Who am I?

Born and raised in West Palm Beach, Florida ~ Nicole started singing at age 8, taking a very strong interest in classical voice and opera. In high school Nicole studied at such prestigious summer programs as The Washington National Opera, Boston Tanglewood Institute, and Brevard Summer Music Festival. Nicole has won several vocal competitions such as the Hal Leonard Vocal Competition, and a finalist in the Classical Singer Summer Competition. She studied as an apprentice in the Palm Beach Opera Apprenticeship program for two years (2016-17), followed by an summer internship in 2018 with the Palm Beach Opera Education and Community Outreach department to organize community events, and promote music in the community.

 

In 2017, Nicole moved to Chicago to study musical composition and received a Bachelors of Music - Music Composition from DePaul University 2021. There gaining experience composing in Finale and Dorico transcribing / writing / engraving sheet music for full orchestra and small ensemble and then conducting the performance of pieces. Nicole has written compositions for a wide range of styles including traditional afghani music, classical indian music, electronic, jazz, western classical. Nicole worked with live players to perform their pieces: learning production, mixing, and recording in Ableton and Logic.

During that time Nicole worked on several main projects:

Founded the band Violet Meridian. In 2019 Nicole released her bands first EP entitled Shedding Skin. Violet Meridian released a single "Shedding Skin" in 2022. 

In 2021, composed a 15 minute composition for full orchestra entitled "Music of the Ainur" inspired by the world creation story in Tolkien's Silmarillian. 

In 2022, a film score for a short film entitled "RON" which called for heavy synth, ambient and electronic suspense music. 

​In 2023, composed a film score for a short film entitled "Symphonie Fantastique" for woodwinds ensemble and percussion. This film was later premiered at the New York Latino Film Festival 2024 and Festival Fotogenia 2024.

In 2025, composed a film score for pilot TV episode "Stealing the Show".

In 2021 Nicole accepted a position at Ritual Hot Yoga after recieving her Yoga Teacher 200hr training from an Ashram in Miramar Florida. Nicole eventually became both a teacher and studio manager learning how lead and inspire a healthy work culture and manage sales, studio operations, and people hiring/development, and business strategy development. As Nicole's yoga experience expanded, an interest arose to pursue sound meditation. Recieving a Sound Meditation Certification in 2021, Nicole was later invited to present at the American Association of Pediatrics in 2022 advocating for the developmental benefit of sound healing on young minds and facilitating a sound healing experience. 

Nicole currently lives and works in Chicago Illinois as a freelance film composer and Ritual Hot Yoga - Wicker Park Studio Manager.
